Whether you are a classroom teacher or higher ed instructor, naturalist or educator at a nature or science center, a leader in an adult or youth program such as master naturalists or Scouts, or just a passionate individual that wants to be part of a MacroBlitz community, we have resources for that.
We have everything you need - step by step - to learn how to find and take photos of aquatic macroinvertebrates and upload to them iNaturalist in our Google classroom. You can join using a personal gmail account (Google education and nonprofit workspace emails are not compatible) using this invitation link. There you will be able to view resources and trainings, connect with other MacroBlitzers, ask questions, share your ideas and more. Join today!
And yes, you must use a personal gmail or an enterprise workspace email due to cross-domain class membership requirements. MacroBlitz is Google Workspace Starter domain (we are small, spunky, and just-enough-funded) and our classroom is compatible with only certain types of Google domains. If you are outside the Google environment, you can link an existing email to a Google account or set up a Google account, making sure to forward notifications to your regular email.
Join the MacroBlitz project on iNaturalist (must have an iNaturalist account). You will get notifications about journal updates and be able to respond to those updates as part of the project community.
We put the livestreams of our trainings on YouTube. Check out our How to MacroBlitz - Training Videos Playlist. Just a heads up, we don't have the bandwidth to monitor questions or comments and respond in YouTube. Please join the Google classroom and post your questions there.
